Current Issue /
Previous issues of AJLA have dealt extensively with material along the lines of iconic landscapes, indigenous landscapes and cultural landscapes. This issue is aimed more at contemporary landscape and urban design and the role that the concept 'sense of place' - also known as 'genius loci' - plays in the design of the built environment. The issue explores the unique qualities that embrace the essence of a particular place, and how design, from the site scale to the urban and regional scale, has responded to these qualities, evoking the spirit of a place.
