Two PhD scholarships are available in the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for research on African landscapes.
We welcome applicants whose work engages with landscapes in Africa across multiple scales, with particular emphasis on critical, participatory, and design-led approaches. Proposed research may examine how African landscapes are shaped, and how they might be reimagined through design, with attention to climate adaptation, Indigenous land relations, spatial justice and socio-ecological practices.
Applicants should hold a degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or a related field.
For more information, please contact Dr. Gareth Doherty at gdoherty@nus.edu.sg.
Applications are due by 1 August 2026. Apply here
