Speakers Announced for IFLA World Congress 2026

Excitement is building for the 62nd IFLA World Congress, taking place in Hong Kong, China, from 28–30 October 2026, as an impressive lineup of keynote speakers and international thought leaders continues to be announced. The Congress will bring together some of the most influential voices in landscape architecture, urbanism, ecology, planning, and design from across the globe.

Held under the theme “Liminal Landscapes: Shifting Boundaries of Watersheds and Coastlines,” the Congress will explore how landscape architects can respond to some of the defining challenges of our time, including climate change, biodiversity loss, coastal resilience, and cross-boundary ecological planning. Set within the unique context of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta, the event promises rich discussions on the relationship between land, water, culture, and the future of our cities and landscapes.

In addition to an exciting technical programme, delegates can look forward to networking opportunities, exhibitions, social events, student activities, and the chance to connect with colleagues from every region of the world. The Congress will also be held alongside the IFLA World Council meetings and other key international events.

Registration is now open, and members are encouraged to take advantage of the early bird registration rates, available until 15 July 2026. Reduced registration fees are available for IFLA members, students, graduate affiliates, and participants from different economic regions, making this an excellent opportunity to join the global landscape architecture community in Hong Kong.

We encourage a strong African presence at the Congress. Whether you are attending to share ideas, build new partnerships, learn from leading practitioners, or showcase African perspectives on the global stage, Hong Kong 2026 promises to be an unforgettable gathering for our profession.
