As plans for the year ahead continue to take shape, we encourage members to keep the 62nd IFLA World Congress firmly on their radar. The global gathering will take place in Hong Kong, China, from 28–30 October 2026, bringing together landscape architects and allied professionals from across the world.
Held under the theme “Liminal Landscapes: Shifting Boundaries of Watersheds and Coastlines,” the Congress will explore how the meeting points of land, water, ecology, and culture can inform more resilient and adaptive futures.
Set within the dynamic landscape of Hong Kong at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta, the event will offer a rich platform for conversations on climate change, biodiversity, coastal resilience, watershed planning, and cross-boundary collaboration.
With keynote sessions, research presentations, networking opportunities, and global exchange, the Congress promises to be a significant moment for the profession. We hope to see a strong African presence represented through ideas, projects, and voices that continue to shape landscapes across our continent.
Calls for abstracts closes on April 30 2026.
Further details on registration will be shared in due course. Find more details on the website here
