Join the Global Heritage Conversation at ACHS 2026

Members and colleagues are warmly invited to take part in the ACHS 2026 Conference, taking place from 29 November to 2 December 2026 in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Hosted under the inspiring theme “TŪHONO – Weaving Relational Heritage Spaces,” the conference will explore how heritage connects people, place, culture, histories, and futures. It promises rich conversations on cultural landscapes, Indigenous heritage, conservation practice, memory, identity, climate change, and the evolving meaning of heritage in a changing world.

ACHS conferences are known for bringing together a vibrant international community of scholars, practitioners, policymakers, creatives, and community leaders. The 2026 edition offers a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and engage with diverse perspectives from across the globe.

For those working in landscape architecture, planning, architecture, conservation, tourism, and community development, the conference presents an especially relevant space to reflect on how landscapes and heritage intersect in both urban and rural settings.

We encourage strong participation from across Africa and hope to see our region well represented in Wellington. This is a chance to share African experiences, learn from global practices, and strengthen our voice in international heritage conversations.

Set against the stunning cultural and natural backdrop of New Zealand’s capital city, ACHS 2026 promises to be both intellectually enriching and deeply memorable.
